Our educational partners have many years of experience in helping students improve their English Language skills in a friendly, international setting.
We only collaborate with English language teaching providers who deliver their courses through highly qualified English teachers who are native speakers and are at least CELTA-qualified. Several also have the Diploma Level (DELTA) qualification.
Tuition is available both individually and in groups. Those wishing to take group tuition are placed in the appropriate class based on both their age and their level of English, which is assessed before arrival.
Course length is flexible: students can join a course for as little as 1 week, or for any number of weeks up to 1 or 2 years, depending on visa status. We typically recommend at least 2 weeks for a short course.
All students wishing to take a course of more than 8 weeks are interviewed by the Lanbuage centre via Skype or Zoom in advance of arrival so that a realistic idea of how long it will take for them to achieve the required level can be given.
English Language programmes are designed to work to the IELTS syllabus, although students are not obliged to take an IELTS exam, and may choose to use the lessons to improve their general language skills.
The maximum group size is 16 students. Individual tuition is based on 10, 20 or 30 lessons per week (40 lessons per week in exceptional cases) and students will usually have two or three different tutors in order to have as varied and useful an experience as possible.
Combined courses of 20 group lessons + 5, 10 or 15 individual lessons are also available.
This English language programme is for any student coming in at the Advanced or Proficient level who will be able to understand, with ease, virtually everything heard or read. At this level, students can summarise information from different spoken and written sources, reconstructing arguments and accounts in a coherent and cohesive way. They can express themselves spontaneously, very fluently and precisely, differentiating finer shades of meaning even in more complex situations.
As a Proficient User, a student at this level can understand a wide range of demanding, longer texts, and recognise implicit meaning. They can express him/herself fluently and spontaneously without much obvious searching for expressions and can use language flexibly and effectively for social, academic and professional purposes. This student can produce clear, well-structured, detailed text on complex subjects, showing controlled use of organisational patterns, connectors and cohesive devices.
